Bhrigu

Bhrigu's descendants play several parts in the Ramayana: Parashurama confronts Rama on the road from Mithila, Chyavana asks Rama for help against Lavana, and Shukra's curse turns Danda's kingdom into the Dandaka forest. In Puranic tradition Bhrigu is also said to have tested the three gods and placed his foot on Vishnu's chest.
