Editorial Policy
Vedic Katha treats sacred and traditional material with care. This policy explains how we choose sources and how we label different kinds of claim.
Sources
We draw on published, citable texts and translations — the Vedas, Puranas, the epics, and recognised scholarly editions — and record the text and section for each claim on deity, character, story and festival pages.
Labelling scripture, tradition and folk belief
We distinguish clearly between what is stated in scripture (naming the text), what comes from Purana, what is regional tradition, and what is popular belief. A folk variant is never presented as scripture. Benefits of mantras and rituals are described as tradition holds them, with no medical, financial or guaranteed outcomes.
Corrections
Where a reader identifies an error or a missing source, we review and correct it. Content known to be incomplete is marked rather than padded.
