Who was Prahasta?
Prahasta is a son of Sumali and one of Ravana's oldest supporters, present at his conquests in the Uttara Kanda. When Hanuman is brought bound before Ravana, Prahasta asks who sent him.
In the war he guards Lanka's eastern gate and leads a great sortie. After a fierce duel Nila kills him with a rock, the first great loss for Ravana.
