Who was Kaikasi?

Sent by her father to win Vishrava, Kaikasi comes to him at dusk. He warns that her sons will be cruel because of the hour, but grants that the youngest will be righteous.

Seeing Kubera in his splendour, Kaikasi urges Ravana to equal him, which sets him on his path of penance and conquest.
