Lopamudra is the wife of the sage Agastya and herself a learned seer, credited with a hymn of the Rigveda. She lives with Agastya in his hermitage in the south.
Lopamudra was a princess of Vidarbha who chose a life of austerity with Agastya. The Rigveda preserves a dialogue between them. In the Aranya Kanda she is part of the hermitage where Rama receives Agastya's weapons and counsel.
