Why is Siddhashrama sacred?

Vishwamitra tells the princes that Vishnu performed austerities here before taking the Vamana form, which is why the place is called the hermitage of perfection.

For six days and nights the brothers stand guard. When the rakshasas attack, Rama drives Maricha into the sea and kills Subahu, and the sacrifice is completed. Buxar in Bihar is the traditional site.
