केकयKekaya is the kingdom of Queen Kaikeyi's family, ruled by her father Ashwapati. Bharata is staying there when Rama is exiled and Dasharatha dies.

Why is Kekaya sacred?
After the weddings, Yudhajit takes Bharata and Shatrughna to Kekaya. Messengers later ride from Ayodhya to summon them without telling them why.
Bharata has a bad dream before they arrive and returns to find his father dead and his brother exiled. In the Uttara Kanda, Yudhajit asks Rama for help against the gandharvas, and Bharata conquers their land.
