Why is Shringaverapura sacred?

Guha, chief of the Nishadas, welcomes Rama as a friend. Rama sleeps on grass beneath an ingudi tree while Lakshmana keeps watch. In the morning Sumantra is sent back and Guha ferries the exiles across the Ganga.

When Bharata arrives with an army, Guha suspects him, but learns of his devotion and guides him onward. The site at Singraur near Prayagraj is the traditional location.
