Who was Romapada?

Romapada's kingdom of Anga suffers a terrible drought, which his priests link to a fault of the king. They advise him to bring the young sage Rishyasringa, raised in the forest, to Anga.

Romapada sends young women to lure Rishyasringa from his father's hermitage, and as soon as the sage arrives the rains return. Romapada gives him Shanta in marriage. Later Dasharatha visits his friend and brings Rishyasringa and Shanta to Ayodhya for the sacrifice that leads to Rama's birth.
