Who was Kabandha?
Searching for Sita, the brothers are caught in Kabandha's arms. They sever them, and Kabandha, learning who they are, rejoices: he was a handsome being cursed by a sage and struck shapeless by Indra, and only Rama could free him.
After the cremation he rises in shining form and directs Rama to Lake Pampa, Rishyamukha and the vanara Sugriva, who will help him find Sita.
