Who was Karna?
Karna is one of the great tragic figures of the Mahabharata. Born to Kunti before her marriage, fathered by the sun-god Surya, he is set adrift on a river and raised by a charioteer — and so lives as a “suta-putra,” denied the recognition his birth deserves.
Bound by loyalty and gratitude to Duryodhana, famed for his generosity and his unbreakable word, he fights on the Kaurava side against the brothers he never knew were his own.
