Who was Draupadi?

Draupadi is the central heroine of the Mahabharata — born from the sacrificial fire of King Drupada, and wife to the five Pandava brothers. Proud, brilliant and fiercely principled, her public humiliation in the Kuru court becomes one of the turning points that leads to the great war.

Her unwavering dignity, and Krishna’s protection of her honour, make her story a lasting emblem of courage and faith.
