Shabari: Places

शबरी

Forest devotee of Rama. Also called The devotee of the tasted berries | Bhakta of Rama.

Shabari was a humble forest-tribe devotee who waited a lifetime to receive Rama, and offered him berries she had tasted first to ensure their sweetness. Rama ate them with joy, the Ramayana's great parable of devotion beyond caste and ritual.
