Harishchandra: Family

हरिश्चंद्र

King of the Ikshvaku line. Also called Satyavadi.

Harishchandra is an Ikshvaku king famed above all for truthfulness. He is listed among Rama's ancestors, and later Puranas tell how he gave up kingdom, family and freedom rather than break his word.
